I assume by now most of you are well aware of my love of Christmas. It definitely tops the list of my favourite times of the year. Nothing quite beats the cosy feeling of your house decked out for the holidays or spending a chilly afternoon sipping on giant mugs of tea with your friends & family. Last weekend my parents and I visited The Garden House in Malahide and it is full to the brim with the most amazing Christmas decor (yes, I left with a bucket load) - I had to share some pictures! If you're not in the festive spirit yet you have to visit!
Every year I have a list of things I want to do over the festive season. For the most part, I never get around to doing everything but I'm itching to tick these things off my Christmas bucket list this year!
1. Watch the Christmas lights being turned on in my home town. I've missed this over the past couple of years, so I'm excited to be home for it this year. There's such a warm atmosphere and being honest, there's something so magical about seeing the Christmas lights twinkling down the street!
2. Have a Christmas movie / baking night at home with the girls. Sitting back with some homemade Christmas cookies & sipping on prosecco while we watch Home Alone - sounds like the perfect night to me.
3. Visit some Christmas Markets. This has been something I've wanted to do for YEARS and I just haven't got around to actually going to any. The idea of strolling around the stalls in the freezing cold probably wouldn't appeal to me at any other time of the year but when you add Christmas decorations, Santa and hot chocolate you have me sold. Haha.
4. Friendmas. I love the idea of Friendmas - basically, going out for Christmas dinner with your friends. There is the cutest little restaurant close by that does a big Christmas display and it would be the perfect way to get us all in the festive mood!
5. Wrapping presents. Every year I try to devote one evening close to Christmas Day for wrapping presents. I'm that person that has a theme for their wrapping paper every year and loves taking the time to do the wrapping - I genuinely don't know why it gives me so much joy but it does. Haha. Also, having Christmas with the Kranks playing in the background is a must.
6. Festive dinners with my parents. Family time around the holidays is the best. I go for dinner with my parents a lot but we always take one night just before Christmas to go out to eat at one of our favourite restaurants and it always feels super festive - the atmosphere is just insane!
Throw in several nights watching Christmas classics and eating all the food and you've got my Christmas in a nutshell! Haha. Have you got any Christmas traditions?
